After a lifetime of grooming people, I've gone to the dogs! Right out of high school I began my career in hairdressing. My weekends though were reserved for dog shows! My daughter Kristi became a professional handler, and I groomed her string of show dogs. We attended shows all over the United States. I' have lost track of how many dogs we have made champions, but along the way, we learned so much, and had a blast traveling and showing the dogs. Upon retirement of both hairdressing and showing dogs professionally, I became bored just sitting around. I wanted to find something I loved doing that would challenge me and something that would combine my love for dogs and grooming and the years of knowledge I had gathered in showing dogs to keep me busy. I wanted to try my hand at grooming pet dogs, just to help people to see that their dogs could look like the dogs they saw on the Westminster dog show on TV. I wanted people to know that there was a better choice than just getting a dog shaved down, and that their dog could look like the breeds that they are supposed to be. So I began, slowly at first, going to grooming seminars, and watching people like my good friend Scott Perry who owns the most amazing grooming salon in Rockford Ill, called "To The Nines Grooming." Scott spent endless hours teaching me the in's and out's of pet grooming, and to him I owe such a debt of gratitude. My true goal is to be half the groomer that Scott is! I had the "want to" and he had the "know how". So, that brings us to present time. Grooming for the love of it! Grooming for the pride it brings to turn out a beautiful animal and see the joy on the owners faces when they see just how wonderful their dogs can look. You can rest assured that when you bring your dog here, they are treated with love and respect, and it is my goal to give each dog the attention they deserve. Making your dog all that he can be!
